Technical
Titles as part of the stage technology.
For technical managers: how LaternaVersio behaves on faults, which networks and ports it uses and which interfaces it has.
Behaviour on faults
| What happens | What LaternaVersio does |
|---|---|
| A display drops out | The desk reports ‘Display missing’, all other outputs keep running. When it comes back, the output opens there again. |
| The main computer fails | The backup computer follows live and takes over after 5 seconds without a signal (adjustable); phones and tablet switch with it. |
| A slip during the performance | The show lock leaves only the live controls free; ‘Back to the start’ takes two steps, ‘Take over now’ on the backup computer asks first; Esc fades the auditorium outputs to black in 0.4 seconds. |
| The program crashes | It saves every minute; at the next start LaternaVersio offers the last state. Outputs never go live by themselves. |
Network and services
| Service | Port | Network |
|---|---|---|
| Phone page (titles only, no control) | TCP 8080 | audience wireless network |
| Technical access (tablet, backup, Companion, browser) | TCP 8090 | never on the audience network; bound to one adapter |
| OSC | UDP 9009 | off by default; on one adapter, with a list of allowed senders |
LaternaVersio needs no internet in operation. The only exception, on click: the one-time download of the AI engine.
Interfaces
- Video
- The computer’s display outputs (projectors, LED, monitors); NDI® with alpha channel; Spout with alpha channel; SDI for Blackmagic Design DeckLink. Video outputs: no more than one 1080p50 signal in total. NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB.
- Control
- Keyboard, presentation remote, numeric keypad; MIDI with learn function, OSC, timecode (MIDI and LTC); module for Companion; tablet with PIN.
- Projectors
- Shutters via PJLink and NEC, monitoring with a traffic light; panic also closes the shutters.
- Stage
- Title areas, corner pinning, masks, soft edge across two projectors, LED band via a pixel map.
- Audience
- Phone page in the browser over the venue’s wireless network, via QR Code; text size and contrast selectable.
- Log
- Performance log with every title, blackout and panic; export as a table and as subtitle files (SRT, WebVTT, TTML).
